The Gulf Cooperation Council
Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf was appointed Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in February 2020. Earlier he was appointed as Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Kuwait Capital Markets Authority’s Board, and Minister of Education. He began his career as an Assistant Professor at the Gulf University’s Accounting Department in 2003 and was then promoted to Vice President of the University, a position he held until 2010. Dr. Al-Hajraf obtained his PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hull in 2002, after receiving his Master’s in Accounting from the University of Illinois in 1997 and his Bachelor’s from the University of Kuwait in 1994.
